What if you could commandeer and fly a Sentinel ship? Interceptor started with that idea, allowing players to take something back from the relentless system authorities (who we affectionately refer to as "the space police" internally). It soon grew into something much bigger. The designers and artists dreamt up the concept of dissonant planets, with mysterious robot heads, apparently empty campsites, and Sentinel forces corrupted by an otherworldly purple crystal. This update came together especially quickly - everything just flowed and fell into place. It's an amazing feeling when that happens. No Man's Sky now had more than seven platform variants. It was a lot, especially for a small team, and we weren't done yet...
